'Gossip Girl' Reboot Cancelled At HBO Max

In the middle of its second season airing, HBO Max has canceled the reboot of Gossip Girl, with next week’s episode being the season finale. In a statement, HBO Max said.

“We are very grateful to showrunner/executive producer Joshua Safran, and executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz for bringing us back to the Upper East Side and all the scandals at Constance Billard.”

Showrunner Josh Safran also said that the series will be shopped to other networks as they attempt to find a new home for New York’s elite. Gossip Girl’s second season scored a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with 9 critic reviews, while the first season came in at a 38%, with over 50 reviews.
