'Killers Of The Flower Moon' Debuts New Stills Ahead Of CinemaCon Presentation
No longer The Whale 2.0.
Just under two years ago, the first still from Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon was released. The image, now infamous on Twitter, featured Lily Gladstone and Leonardo DiCaprio sitting at a dinner table and was the only official look given at the film until this morning when news site OsageNews exclusively debuted three new photos before Apple posted them on their own.

Based on David Grann’s book of the same name, the film is set in 1920s Oklahoma and follows the Osage Nation and the string of horrific murders that plagued them for years. The film primarily revolves around Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his wife Mollie (Lily Gladstone) as they find themselves in the middle of a plot to gain land and riches, while the Osage people are targeted by competitors and the government. In Grann’s book, we learn not only about the shocking murder mystery but the birth of the FBI itself, then known as the Bureau of Investigation.
The film, which is premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in May, releases in theaters on October 6 before heading to Apple TV on October 20. Killers of the Flower Moon stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brendan Fraser, Lily Gladstone, Robert De Niro, and Jesse Plemons, among others. The film is co-written and directed by Martin Scorsese.
