Rick Famuyiwa Directed The Final Two 'Mandalorian' Episodes Of Season Three
There’s been a definite divide between opinionated fans regarding this season of The Mandalorian, with some liking the new direction the show’s been taking and some wishing it’d return to its routes. Luckily, that may be the direction it’s taking for the final two episodes of the season by putting Rick Famuyiwa back in the director’s chair.
This news came during The Mandalorian’s segment as a part of Lucasfilm’s Studio Showcase during the first day of Star Wars Celebration, when the cast and filmmakers came on stage to discuss the show’s future. After the cast discussed where their characters were in a story-sense and spoke to the fans, executive producers Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Rick Famuyiwa remained on stage to go more in-depth as to where the show’s going and did so by showing off the first sequence from the upcoming episode of the series (Chapter 23), releasing Wednesday, April 12. Afterwards, they briefly discussed the footage and confirmed that Famuyiwa directed the final two episodes of the season. Previously, Famuyiwa directed four episodes of the series, including Chapter 2: The Child, Chapter 6: The Prisoner, Chapter 15: The Believer, and Chapter 17: The Apostate.
The lucky fans who attended this morning’s panel will also have the chance to view Chapter 23 in its entirety tonight during the convention, and from what we know, it will be a spoiler-heavy entry in The Mandalorian’s chapter book. If you want to avoid spoilers, I’d suggest staying off of social media or muting words related to the series based on the cliffhangers from the previous episodes.
