The Eras Tour Is Coming To A Theater Near You, And It’s Kicking ‘The Exorcist’ Off Of Friday The 13th
It seems that global domination in Ticketmaster frustration wasn’t enough for Taylor Swift, as she’s bringing a pro-shot film of her The Eras Tour to movie theaters on October 13, and it’s already made more than $10 million.
Swift’s Eras Tour, which kicked off its 146-show run on March 17, wrapped its first leg earlier this month in Los Angeles with a run of six sold-out shows at SoFi stadium.
This isn’t the first time Swift has released a theatrical edition of one of her concerts, but it certainly is the biggest. The film will screen over the course of four weekends from mid-October to November, locking down 4,000 screens and premium-format theaters (IMAX, Dolby Cinema).
Fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) after this morning’s announcement, noticing that Swift’s Eras Tour film would be debuting alongside Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer on October 13, dubbing the event #Exorswift (think July’s Barbenheimer).
Unfortunately, Jason Blum took to the platform in the early afternoon to officially cancel the newfound phenomenon, announcing that Blumhouse has pushed Exorcist up a week, moving from October 13 to October 6 for its theatrical release. Yes, you heard that right. Taylor Swift got The Exorcist to move off of Friday the 13th.
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour arrives in theaters on October 13.
