Watch First Clip From Upcoming Harry Belafonte Doc 'Following Harry'

At the Tribeca Film Festival’s annual Harry Belafonte Voices for Social Justice Award presentation, Tribeca’s CCO Paula Weinstein surprised an audience with the first look at Following Harry, an upcoming documentary that looks at Harry Belafonte’s life and experiences in public and in private.

Directed by Susanne Rostock (Sing Your Song), the film is currently in post-production and is aiming to unpack the effect that Belafonte has created. Belafonte and Rostock worked together over the last 12 years of his life until his death this April on the film, exploring the legacy and life’s work of the social icon.

The clip shared, which is now online, is the film’s prologue and shows the first glimpse of just how much of Belafonte’s final chapter has been captured, a special moment for those in attendance at the award ceremony. Watch the clip below:
