Following its cultural takeover in late 2022, Wednesday has been renewed for a second season at Netflix. This news comes after earlier reports that a writers room was assembled to begin planning the second entry.

In a statement, showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar said,

“[We are] thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two. We can’t wait to dive head first into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. [We] just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.”

Jenna Ortega, who plays the titular character, took to Twitter to comment on the second season, saying,

“Thanks to everyone who made this upcoming season possible. This has all been pretty surreal.”
