2023 New York Film Critics Circle Awards Winners
NYFCC, the first of the major critics groups announced their awards winners earlier today during a real-time, in-person voting ceremony. Surprise wins arose in Best Actor and Screenplay, while favorites continued their predicted sweeps in categories like Supporting Actress and Cinematography.
Celine Song’s Past Lives took home the Best First Film prize, a category surely to be sweep by Song’s sublime debut.
The NYFCC awards serve as one of the initial precursors for the Academy Awards, with winners consistently going on to receive nominations — and wins — at the succeeding Oscars.
