Though Andy Muschietti’s first movie for DC, The Flash, isn’t even out in theaters yet, it seems that he’s impressed the studio heads enough for them to put him in charge of The Brave and the Bold, the first main universe Batman movie for the new DC Studios.

Muschietti, the filmmaker behind It, It: Chapter Two, and the upcoming The Flash, was asked by Josh K. Elliott last week if he’d taken any interest in directing The Brave and the Bold for DC, to which he responded, “I don’t think I can talk to that yet.” This sparked speculation online in regards to whether or not Muschietti had been tapped for the project, which a report by our friends at One Take News confirmed.

Muschietti, though making publicity rounds for The Flash, is currently in production on his MAX series Welcome to Derry, which serves as a prequel to his It films.

The Brave and the Bold currently does not have a release date or a writer attached to the project.

Andy Muschietti is repped by WME.
