It took 103 days for Avatar: The Way of Water to hit digital VOD platforms for viewers to watch at home after it debuted in theaters, and it’ll be another 84 before it arrives on physical media. For reference, it only took the first Avatar film 108 days to hit physical media as opposed to the 187 days for The Way of Water to do so.

In our original review of Avatar: The Way of Water, Chief Film Critic Eze Baum praised the film for its technical achievements but highlighted the fact that, narratively, the film feels too similar to its predecessor to stand out on its own.

Avatar: The Way of Water releases on Blu Ray everywhere on June 20 and 4k via a Best Buy exclusive steelbook.

“Jake Sully and Ney'tiri have formed a family and are doing everything to stay together. However, they must leave their home and explore the regions of Pandora. When an ancient threat resurfaces, Jake must fight a difficult war against the humans.” — Disney
