First Trailer For 'My Father’s Dragon' & More

The first trailer for My Father’s Dragon was released today, bringing the best look at the film so far. The film adapts the kids’ books written by Ruth Stiles Gannett. Following Elmer, My Father’s Dragon takes place as he runs away in search of an island and a dragon who waits to be rescued. Elmer's adventures introduce him to beasts, a mysterious island, and the friendship of a lifetime. The film is helmed by Academy Award®-nominated director Nora Twomey (The Breadwinner) and is produced by Cartoon Saloon, Mockingbird Pictures, Netflix Animation, and Parallel Films.

We got to speak to Jack S.A. Smith, who stars in the movie as Eugene, and briefly ask about his experience working on the project and his reaction to the trailer.

“Everyone was completely helpful. Nora Twomey, the director was very kind, especially because it was my first experience working on a real movie. Everyone was very inviting, and it was a lot of fun to work on the movie. Seeing the trailer was incredibly fun. I am so excited for its release, and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I have.”
